The function of the crane is lifting and moving goods and materials, usually in the presence of gradients, barriers or ground obstacles which make it difficult or impossible to move them in another way.
Counterbalance forklift trucks or forklifts are operating devices characterized by a lifting unit, made by a mast and forks. There are different types of forklift trucks used in various work environments: indoor interior electric trucks are used because they do not have emissions of exhaust gases and because they are not noisy. Outdoors are used gasoline, diesel or gas forklifts instead. Counterbalance forklift trucks are composed of a cabin that can be opened for models with lifting reduced capacity or closed to vehicles used for outdoor use, and then with every type of comfort and shelter from weather conditions. Counterbalance forklift trucks are provided with rear steering, that allows the rear wheels for a better maneuverability, and allows to operate in narrow hallways or warehouses. There are 3-wheeled forklifts, which usually have a reduced lifting capacity, and 4-wheeled forklifts with a higher loading capacity and greater stability than the 3-wheeled version. The range is from 6 tons, and varies depending on the model and propulsion; in fact, the electric forklift trucks have less lifting capacity than a diesel, petrol or gas. The upright can be duplex or triplex: respectively being able to lengthen hydraulically than 2 or 3 times the length of the upright closed.
The rough terrain forklift truck is a 4-wheeled cart and it is mainly used outside on rough terrain. There are also models with bald tires, used in the industrial and homogeneous flooring, such as asphalt or concrete, and models with larger diameter of the tires, suitable for rough terrain. The number of tires varies from a minimum of 4 to 6. Most of the rough terrain forklift trucks have diesel, gasoil and gasoline; they usually have a hydrostatic transmission, sometimes (especially older models) a mechanical or hydrodynamic gear. A rough terrain forklift truck possesses a high stability, strength and handling, as well as high moving speed to move the goods from one point to another. The rough terrain forklift truck has an upright frame solid and strong enough to hold large lifting capacity. The workplaces in which it is used more are: heavy industry, timber industry, mining, recycling and composting, in building and construction sites for the construction of factories and plants.
The telehandler/ telescope forklift is a device used in the outside, divided into rigid or semi-rigid lift and it is provided with a compartment. The majority of the models are provided with a diesel all-wheel drive and oscillating rear axle engine for optimum performance on rough terrain. The telescopic lift trucks are very versatile thanks to free connections available in the telescopic arm, in which you can install different types of equipment. There are also rotating telescopic forklift with a rotating upright. The main use of the telescopic loader forklifts is on construction sites, in industry, in agriculture thanks to the possibility its extension (over 25 m).
Sideloader forklifts have an electric motor, diesel or gas and are used to transport and store bulky goods and long (e.g. pieces and molds of steel, wood or plastic) in a very small space and with restricted maneuverability. The side loader raises the goods with the side forks, resting during transport on a plane on the side of the side loader. The main use of the truck side is in industry, woodworking, plastic working. They are extremely essential in all those activities which provide a shift of goods even of small dimensions; are very easy to use and handle, they are small and with different types of load and can be manual and electric. The rear truck is used to carry long and bulky goods. When lifting, the upright moves forward to take the goods and then goes towards the arms to the wheel. The ability to raise and lower the load vertically stays the same, as for all forklift. There are also models with a side frame. The features of this truck make totally superfluous the use of a counterweight to stabilize the load.
The order picker is an electric truck in which the cockpit (or only the seat) is placed on the corresponding working height, during the lifting. There are different models of order picker:
The container handler are used for container handling standard on trucks, trains, ships , etc. They are heavy machines, which come to exceed even the 70-80 tons, the propulsion is usually diesel or kerosene, but there are some electric models. Having to carry heavy loads, the container lifter is equipped with ballast to counterweight, used to maintain balance and ensure safety during cargo handling. The container handler can be of two different types : the classic and heavy truck for container that allows you to lift containers only placed in the initial files, and Reachstacker that allow you to lift loads even in the third row of conteiners.
The mounted forklift is used in order to be hoisted to the tail of a truck, in such a way as not to occupy valuable space in the floor. In a short time, the truck is operating to unload the goods and is effective in all the deliveries where there is the availability of a classic forklift. The weight of the truck and forklift are lower than a common truck.
